My research focuses on processes linking population change in animals to food habits and habitat features. Understanding these processes allows for better predictions of the effects of management or other habitat change on population dynamics. My past studies have explored the effects of clear-cut logging on small mammals in southeast Alaska; mating systems, habitat, and song patterning in winter wrens; population dynamics and habitat relationships of Townsend's ground squirrels; and prairie dog metapopulations and management.

Chris is the developer of the PRISM spatial climate modeling system, which produces state-of-the-science spatial climate products currently used in thousands of applications worldwide.

Christina Hulbe Portland State University

Christina Hulbe is an Associate Professor of Geology at Portland State University. She is a geophysicist who specializes in glaciology, using computer simulations of glacial systems to study how and why they change over time. Her current projects emphasize both glaciological records of past events and the development of models used to interpret modern observations and, eventually, to inform studies aimed at projecting future change. These studies include analysis and simulation of marine ice sheet retreat processes, fracture mechanics in floating ice, and the response of glacier ice to climate warming on the Antarctic Peninsula.
