Assistant Tribal Climate Resilience Liaison for the Alaska Climate Adaptation Science Center. Position Open Until Filled. Assistant Tribal Climate Resilience Liaison (Asst. TCRL) for the Alaska Climate Adaptation Science Center (AK CASC) serves as support on Alaska Tribal climate adaptation science needs under the guidance and direction of the Senior Tribal Climate Resilience Liaison (Sr. TCRL) of the Native American Fish and Wildlife Society (NAFWS). The Asst. TCRL is responsible for working with the Sr. TCRL to provide technical assistance and to work with tribal communities across Alaska to improve their capacity to prepare for and respond to climate-related environmental impacts. Climate Change Manager, Lummi Natural Resources. Deadline to Apply: October 2, 2024. The Lummi Natural Resources (LNR) Climate Change Manager (CCM) directs and coordinates the implementation LIBC’s Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation Plan (CCMAP) within the Natural Resources Department and the community with the goal of creating climate resilience in Lummi Nation’s built and natural environments. The Climate Change Manager also supports the implementation of the LIBC’s Strategic Energy Plan (SEP) within the Natural Resources Department and the community with the goal of reducing carbon emissions to mitigate future climate change. Environmental Outreach Specialist, Washington State Climate Office. Application Review begins October 2, 2024. The Washington State Climate Office is hiring an entry-level, full-time Environmental Outreach Specialist to help support core functions of the Office. Duties include technical presentations, developing and interpreting climate data products, science syntheses, media engagement, contributing to climate trainings/education, and other work to share scientific and technical knowledge about climate and its impacts. USGS Invasive Species and Climate Change Fellowship. Applications Due: October 11, 2024. The Southwest Climate Adaptation Science Center (SW CASC) is seeking a postdoc or PhD candidate to lead research synthesis on the intersection of invasive species and climate change in the Southwest. The SW CASC delivers useful and useable science to natural and cultural resource managers for climate adaptation planning. There is growing awareness that climate change influences the spread of invasive species and that invasives can interact with climate change, exacerbating impacts. The SW CASC is interested in synthesizing research on invasive species and climate change across the Southwest and engaging with natural and cultural resource managers to identify regional research, education, and communication priorities. University of Idaho Tribal Research Scholar Support (TRSS). Overview: The Tribal Research Scholar Support (TRSS) program is designed to build capacity between University of Idaho and Tribal nations by supporting master’s and doctoral-level graduate research on Tribally relevant topics. The TRSS program engages students in STEM areas (science, technology, engineering & mathematics) to harness expertise on issues related to Indigenous research.
