The Gulf Research Program's Science Policy Fellowship program enables scientists to hone and broaden their skillset and praxis/practice for the benefit of Gulf Coast human and natural communities and ecosystems. Guided by a mentor/collaborator, fellows investigate and assess and evaluate policy development, restoration planning, grants management, stakeholder outreach and perfect skills that translate scientific information into usable, action-driven outcomes. The University of Minnesota Climate Adaptation Partnership (MCAP) is seeking a full-time FloodWise Communities Program Specialist to join our team and work in collaboration with the Great Lakes NOAA CAP/RISA team (GLISA) to help build community resilience to current and emerging flood risks in Minnesota and the Great Lakes region. We are looking for a dedicated individual to join our team who possesses the expertise and experience to facilitate the research, engagement, and planning required to help communities across the region accelerate the implementation of flood risk reduction and resilience strategies. This position is also part of a new, national initiative called the Strengthening Human Infrastructure Project (SHIP), supported by the Aspen Global Change Institute. Are you passionate about environmental conservation and connecting people to the outdoors? The Pacific Crest Trail Association (PCTA) is looking for someone with outdoor leadership experience in training and supervising trail crews to join our team as a Field Project Specialist. The Field Project Specialist works with corps crew partners and volunteer trail crews to oversee and implement technical trail work projects in various locations along the Pacific Crest Trail. Crews vary with a mix of conservation corps crews, young adults, and adult volunteers working on 1 -10 day projects in both front country and backcountry settings.
