Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC) Climate Initiatives Program: Apply before January 2, 2026. The Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC) Climate Initiatives Program is seeking a motivated, collaborative leader to manage the Center for Climate and Health. This is an opportunity to join a dedicated team working to strengthen community health and resilience in the face of climate change across Alaska. The CCH Manager will oversee the Local Environmental Observer (LEO) Network and One Health activities, lead program operations and strategic development, supervise staff, manage partnerships, and guide communications and outreach for climate and health initiatives. This role provides a pathway to expanded leadership opportunities within the department, across ANTHC, and with partner organizations. Alaska Coastal Studies - Summer Coordinators, Naturalists and Educators. Applications Due: January 12, 2026. Share your energy and enthusiasm by leading educational programs for children, school groups, locals, and visitors to Alaska. As a non-profit environmental education and stewardship organization, the CACS mission is to foster responsible interaction with our natural surroundings and to generate knowledge of the unique ecosystems of Kachemak Bay. Summer seasonal staff are employed in these four unique locations: the Wynn Nature Center (a 145-acre boreal forest preserve), Inspiration Ridge Preserve (a stunning mosaic of forest, bogs, meadows, ponds and creeks), Peterson Bay Field Station (a semi-rustic facility across Kachemak Bay and accessible only by boat), and Yurt on the Spit (exploration of invertebrate life living on and around the Homer harbor docks). Timing: Most summer positions run from May 26th–September 1st, 2026 with a few ending slightly earlier due to the nature of the position. The Pacific Crest Trail Association (PCTA) is looking for someone with outdoor leadership experience in training and supervising trail crews to join our team as a Field Project Specialist. The Field Project Specialist works with corps crew partners and volunteer trail crews to oversee and implement technical trail work projects in various locations along the Pacific Crest Trail. Rising Voices Changing Coasts Summer Internship 2026. Empowering Future Researchers to Bridge Knowledge Traditions. Engage in a summer of learning, connection, and discovery—where science meets story, land, and community. Be part of the next generation of researchers honoring Indigenous wisdom and building bridges across traditions and disciplines. The Rising Voices, Changing Coasts Hub (RVCC) is a project that brings together university-trained scientists and traditional knowledge-holders to better understand the interactions between natural, human-built, and social systems in four coastal regions in Indigenous territories, including Alaska, Louisiana, Hawai’i, and Puerto Rico. Based at Haskell Indian Nations University in Lawrence, KS, the immersive RVCC summer internship program is focused on climate change using Native Science and explores the unique methods and methodologies that shape Indigenous research practices. The summer 2026 internship plan includes a focus on and a visit to Puerto Rico to learn about coastal climate changes and the people who live there. This program offers Indigenous undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to engage deeply with Native Science. Throughout the internship, participants will learn how Native Science enriches research methodologies, fosters respect for multiple ways of knowing, and contributes to more holistic, impactful scholarship in relation to climate change and extremes, including a focus on Puerto Rico. 2026 TEK Workforce - Elderberry Widsom Farm's Internship Program. The Elderberry Wisdom Farm’s TEK Workforce Development Internships for Native Americans and other interns interested in strengthening their conservation career training. In 2026, we are providing 6 month urban forestry internships in partnership with Oregon Department of Forestry: Urban and Community Forestry Program, City of Salem Urban Forestry, Friends of Trees and 3 local Salem high schools. This will expand interns’ conservation career pathway planning skills in several new ways. Interns will learn to cultivate, maintain and plant native tree, shrub and pollinator ground cover species at our Native American Plant Nursery to strengthen their experience and their workforce readiness. Culturally tailored classroom education and experiential service-learning activities will teach them to germinate and cultivate climate resilient native trees and companion plants for project partners. Conservation Forester, The Tulalip Tribe. Open Until Filled. The Conservation Forester will support the development and implementation of site-specific off-reservation forest management plans that integrate traditional ecological and forestry knowledge with modern and innovative forestry practices. Coordinate and oversee activities related to forest inventory, data collection, hazardous fuels reduction, invasive species control, and wildlife and aquatic habitat enhancement. Work with contractors and internal staff to ensure project and grant goals are met on time and within budget. Facilitate interdepartmental and interjurisdictional coordination to align land management efforts with broader environmental strategies.
