Tribal Climate Change Guide

The Tribal Climate Change Guide is part of the Pacific Northwest Tribal Climate Change Project (TCCP). The TCCP is part of the L.I.G.H.T. Foundation (LF), is an independent, Indigenous-led, conservation 501(c)(3) nonprofit established on the Colville Indian Reservation in the traditional territory of the Nespelem Tribe in present-day north central Washington State. LF supports the restoration and cultivation of native Plant and Pollinator Relatives and the culturally respectful conservation of habitats and ecosystems which are climate resilient and adaptive. Description

Most recent deadline: December 6, 2023. The California Strategic Growth Council recently released the Notice of Funding Availability for Round 2 of the Regional Climate Collaboratives (RCC) Program. RCC is a capacity building grant program that funds community-rooted and cross-sectoral partners to develop the processes, plans, and projects that will drive and sustain climate action in their communities. RCC invests in projects that advance the following key Program Objectives: Develop Actionable Plans and Projects, Build Social Infrastructure, Center Community Engagement and Decision Making, and Develop Equity-Centered Processes.

Funding Amount

Small grants between $500,000 and $999,999. Large grants between $1M and $1.75M

Eligible applicants include: California Native American Tribes, community-based organizations and nonprofits, local government agencies, small businesses, and organizations with a history of providing community-based outreach and technical assistance.
