This report examines more than twenty federal agency consultation policies with a goal of identify ing strategies to increase the effectiveness of the federal - tribal relationship in addressing climate change. Specifically, this report examines the scope of federal consultation policies in the context of climate change and highlights specific policies that include mechanisms that may result in more direct and meaningful consultation on climate change issues. The conclusion of this report provides a summary of key considerations and recommendations for strengthening the federal - tribal relationship in understanding and addressing the impacts from climate change.
